About
I'm Lex Pelger & as a biochemist, I've been doing canna-education for 15 years now. I currently have the first hole in my schedule since I started working so I'm looking for companies or organizations where I can:
help with their newsletters (the best ROI in the cannabis space because of the social media restrictions)
build a science library of medical conditions (my personal archives have 30k hand-annotated pieces of research organized by organ system & disease state. These are available for sharing to healthcare practitioners & to nonprofits)
produce canna-education videos
host a podcast interviewing cannabis doctors, nurses, scientists & patients to share more about how people use our favorite plant
My newsletter: 'Cannabinoids & the People', a free weekly newsletter of all the new cannabinoid science + news, the War on Drugs, harm reduction & other psychoactives:

My vids: YouTube @CannabinoidsAndThePeople: canna-education videos sponsored by the National Cannabis Study out of Johns Hopkins (join & get paid $100 to talk about your medical use of our favorite plant!).
My company: White Whale Creations for producing psychoactive content for cannabis & psychedelic companies:

My canna-graphic novel series based on Moby Dick:

For my background, ever since we learned about Punnett squares in 7th grade, I've loved science. I got a degree in biochemistry, worked in a lab for awhile & then started writing about psychedelic science. Finally, in a moment of great hubris, I decided to write my first book about cannabis & the endocannabinoid system. "How hard could it be? Get it done in a year. Bing, bang, boom...".
Well, I had no idea how gigantic the field was. So it was only 5 years of research later, including interview trips across the US & Europe (and Dr. Mechoulam himself), that I finally had my head wrapped around the basics. On my last research trip, because I kept calling anandamide "my Great White Whale", I brought along Moby Dick as my big fat book.
And friends, it was incredible. Best book I've ever read. And it gave me the structure for my books: Captain Ahab is the War on Drugs & the whales are the endocannabinoids swimming in the ocean of our brains. Now I've written 3 of them (out of a planned 135). And for the last 15 years, I've documented every new paper on cannabis & the cannabinoids & shared that science with the world.
